Chef Rebekah Lennerton (Becky) is the proprietor and Chef at Black River Food Company, a renowned gastro-business in the Muskoka region. For the past 20 years, Chef Becky has called Muskoka home and is a fixture at local farmers markets, festivals, music events and other regional fairs. Chef Becky subscribes to a “Farm to table” philosophy when it comes to food and her culinary creativity and inspirations are the hallmark of her company.
Chef Becky has spent years perfecting her craft and has worked in prestigious establishments such as North44 and the Lake Joseph Club. Through her connections with Private members Club, she had the pleasure of cooking for celebrities such as Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Tom Hanks, Martin Short, Eric Lindros and even Kate Hudson for her 17th birthday party. Other notable establishments on her resume include, Geneva Park, Horseshoe Valley, Northridge Inn and Resort and Cranberry Resorts.
Now Chef Becky focuses her time and skills on her business and teaching others her craft. She runs a series of recreational cooking classes for groups of 8 to 10 participants, in the comfort of your own home, school, church, etc. Chef Becky has a unique niche on the trends of the industry such as a Gourmet Food Truck, pop up catering events, Farmers Markets, themed events, speciality food shows and charitable events. Chef Becky has a loyal following in her food enterprises and she never fails to stir up the culinary flavours in the most interesting ways.
One of the specialities is game and local food. Chef Becky is a believer in sustainable production of food and eating from locally sourced supplies. Over the years Chef Becky has worked with many local suppliers to feature their fare on her menus. Her food truck is the only regional truck that specializes in game and wild meats. Her summer business is thriving and vibrant with a wide base of clients from near and far. Remember she says…You eat with your eyes!!!!!!
